There are some interesting developments in Ultra Violet radar and flight control systems.
Radar is being developed that can measure the movement of air molecules ahead of the aircraft. This information is used by the controls to adjust for any predicted ‘bumps’ and make the flight smoother for you! Unfortunately it’s going to be 10 years before it’s available to commercial aircraft.
Meanwhile you can say to yourself “Turbulence may be uncomfortable, but that’s not the same as dangerous.”
