Passenger Safety Announcement.

On a recent flight, as the safety briefing was being given, two passengers were in a loud conversation and eight of the twelve people sitting behind me were reading newspapers. Listening to the safety briefing is a sensible thing to do because in the very very very unlikely event of  something happening you’ll know what to do. People rarely panic in the first few seconds of an evacuation. Normal behaviour is to stay in their seats and wait for someone else to react.

Always be prepared for something that’s not likely to happen…like the crew are required to be.

The reason I get upset when people don’t pay attention and especially when they talk is that it stops other people hearing and puts everyone at more risk.
