Dear Keith
We have communicated before when I've thanked you for your book and CDs.
Just to let you know that I am a 52 year old professional entertainer whose life and career have both been adversely affected by a terror of flying.
My first flying experience was 6 years ago when I flew Heathrow to Chicago on an American Airlines 777 - a horrendous flight with a seeming 8 and half hours of turbulence and concomitant 'buttock-clenching'. Followed within 2 weeks with a flight (same day) Chicago- Miami, Miami to Puerto Rico then Amsterdam - Paris, Paris -Heathrow. My overwhelming thought was NEVER AGAIN!!
However, I longed to fly again in order to conquer my fear and open up the world's opportunities.
I bought your Cds a couple of weeks ago and have played them regularly since (especially CD2 and your 4 minute 'Flight Deck' track on CD4).
With the addition of some deep self-analysis to try and understand the cause and nature of my fears and a subsequent 'self re-programming' using a simple 'happiness trigger' of my own devising I was able yesterday to fly Cardiff-Glasgow, Glasgow -Cardiff.
My realistic aim was to find flight bearable (I’d have settled for 'not too terrifying’) instead thanks in massive part to your CDs I thoroughly ENJOYED it !!!
Nearly every aspect of the flight conformed exactly to your CD from 'push-back' to 'seat chimes' to landing. No surprises!
I had a couple of very slightly anxious moments - just pre-check in, looking out of the window for the first time (not sure if it was height I was scared of - I wasn’t) and especially when the plane banked for the first time but recourse to my 'trigger' and knowledge imparted from the CDs allayed all anxiety I even used the phrase to my travelling companion as we had slight buffeting on our descent through cloud to Rhoose "turbulence is uncomfortable but NOT dangerous".
Such was my comfort and enjoyment that I took an active interest in the descent and landing at both airports - including the banking !! Just terrific !
Thank you so much - I shall be flying again and, of course' listening to the CDs again - it even crossed my mind to enquire about flying lessons lol ! I shall also be thinking of passing on my 'happiness trigger' method to other nervous flyers.
Thanks again Keith - you should be very proud of your work and the invaluable service you are giving.
Best wishes
