Its been a long time since I have posted anything on this site, for that I apologise because without you, your team and all who contribute to the network, I wouldn’t be flying and I would have missed a lot of great holidays.

I have been to Turkey, we went to Egypt to cruise the Nile, last year we cruised around Egypt and the holy land and in December we went to Lanzarote.  Don’t get me wrong I can still get nervous when flying especially when coming into land, but nothing stops me flying now, I even sit at the window seat now and enjoy the great views.

Not sure you will remember me but I came along to your course as a “supporter” for my wife almost a year ago. Well we have just returned from a trip to see our son in Australia!
Your course never pretended to be a 100% guaranteed magic course, and in any case, anyone who was looking for that would be very naive.

But it certainly helped a great deal.
So I am writing to thank you for your help and patience and we have already recommended you to a couple of our friends!

HI I’M 8 MINUTES INTO WATCHING  A TV PROGRAMME CALLED ‘THE  WORLD’S 10 SCARIEST LANDINGS’ …APPARENTLY THE PROBLEM WITH THE FIRST AIRCRAFT IS THAT THE 737 CAN’T JETTISON FUEL…REALLY? NO WONDER…THE PLANE CONCERNED IS AN AIRBUS.   DO I NEED TO WATCH THE REST OF THE GARBAGE THAT’S ABOUT TO FOLLOW?

27 MINUTES INTO THE PROGRAMME…CONCORDE HAS 2 ENGINES…REALLY?

APPARENTLY PILOTS LIKE TO KICK THE RUDDER ON A CROSSWIND LANDING…RUBBISH!

“Almost vertical approach” …vertical is 90 degrees a normal approach is 3 degrees

“Passengers could feel the effects of the crosswind”…how?

” 800,000 horsepower engine”…no such engine.

” one engine pulls to one side and could flip the plane over”  No it couldn’t.

I always advised against watching Air disaster movies. I hope these  comments convince you.

I would like to thank you for your help!! I had a wonderful vacation on Mexico! The flights were fine and believe it or not, i kind of enjoy it!!!! I’ve made a short film of the landing and im posting it here.

You frase  (sic)  was always in my thoughts “Turbulence is not dangerous, just uncomfortable”!!

You should talk to Capt Keith, because along with a huge list of fears, this was one of my fears. I believe there is a window in the cockpit which will open.

If you have a chance then please go on one of the courses. I had not flown for 35 years and after the course I went on a 4hour flight twice.

It’s now been 2 years and I have been to Australia, Doha and the  Far East.  Yes I do still gets a bit nervous, but I take the book with me and I always pretend that Capt Keith is flying the plane.

But I got help: the incredible BA staff on the flight to London. I took your advice and told them and they where so friendly and helpful. The first officer actually came out during the flight to have a chat with me about the weather conditions and turbulence in general. I dare to say that tipped me over and I realised finally I have nothing to fear.

Several times during the next 11 hour flight I found myself saying in my head “ah well I won’t worry bout this or that. I’ll leave it to the professionals”.

Flying again in 4 days and for the first time I really don’t feel bothered at all.

I just wanted to say a huge thank you for the huge help you have been to me. My parents live in Spain and other family live in Cyprus and

Italy.

Refusing to fly has caused huge problems over the years and a huge expense and time with travelling by boat and car!

I purchased your Flying without Fear book and  FLYING WITHOUT FEAR CD about 6 years ago which enabled me to fly for the first time in 17 years. Since then I have managed to fly many times and will be flying to Cyprus to get married next year.

Your emails continue to help and reassure and I can’t thank you enough.

Thank you Keith and Vivienne so much for the fear of flying course I attended yesterday. (November 19th)

Reflecting on the day, the most important thing I came away with was I now have the ability  (I almost typed ‘I hope!’) ****to trust the pilots in charge of the aeroplane. I have attended a commercial course before, and yes I trusted the pilot on the day, but I had to fly with other airlines, and other pilots on other occasions.

Being in a small group of only 4 people with a real life pilot! For 7 hours showing and explaining to us all about the flight, what happens in the cockpit, as well as answering our more obscure and ‘what if’ questions with endless patience was absolutely invaluable.

Just having all of that would have been money well spent, but to have all the resources given to us at the end of the day foc was excellent.

(Anyone attending the course is given all out products free of charge. All 3 volumes Flying without Fear, DVD, CDSet, 2 Audio Courses, Workshop Book, In Flight Guide and DVD with all course Videos)

We went out to lunch with my sister today (who is a fearful flyer) and I have told her all about your course.

I am determined to take my booked flight next Saturday with XXX, and also my package holiday in January. Flying with a very low cost airline might take some more work and visits however!! Thanks once again.

**** We discourage words like hope and wish. ..it’s better to be realistic,  rather than ‘hoping’ there’s won’t be turbulence say “what will I do if there is turbulence? ” and develop a strategy for dealing with it.

Back home after 2 weeks of turquoise sea, blue skies, seeing turtles and ancient Roman and Lycian ruins and walking on Lycian Way.

Flight out B757 200 cloudy-everything JUST ROUTINE. I am 5ft 4 and I found the seat pitch very cramped compared to other airlines I have flown with in economy.

Homeward 757 200 again but were allocated seat on the very front row to my delight more leg room- take off 11.05 p.m again everything normal regarding all the sounds, sensations connected with the actual flight could watch the cabin crew going about their busy job, etc very reassuring to see how NORMAL everything is to them. Female captain made a superb landing and was impressed in how she kept updating us with where we were flying over- had fantastic view over the Bosphorus of Istanbul with lights twinkling from 36,000ft.

To all of you who worry yourselves about the safety aspects of flying road travel is FAR MORE dangerous-our bus travelled on the most hair pin bend mountain roads with huge drops at the sides and no crash barriers.On the coastal road an overtaking lorry clipped our bus damaging our front mirror and never stopped but thankfully that was all the damage and no one was hurt.

I never thought I would ever be able 2 enjoy a flight ever again!

During take off every time I would get scared I said its all normal and it really worked!!

And I actually like flying now so again THANK YOU for helping me get over my fear.

Christina Morson I was able to fly to America in April, because of you but I have to convince you to sail.

Hope you are well! I am rather proud of myself i took another return flight from Belfast to Standsted with easyjet on Tuesday i was only in London for the day so i think it was good that i had to take 2 flights in the same day – good experience for me. Although i was still nervous i managed not too ‘freak out’ completely and didnt need to hold my colleague’s hand at any point : )

So your site is a god send!!
