Cabin Crew Schedule

Hello everyone,

I've recently got my schedule for November and it looks like another busy and exciting month ahead. I came back from Antigua yesterday, and I also have a couple of 4 day European trips, where I get to spend the night in Toulouse, Geneva and Amsterdam. I also have some day trips, such as Edinburgh and back followed by Dublin and back.

I usually get two days off every week as a minimum, and always two days off after a long haul flight.

I'm really looking forward to my European trips as I've been mainly doing long haul flights, taking people on their holidays, and I miss some European shopping.

Fear of Flying. My roster

Hello everyone, I'm sorry that I have been so busy that I have not been able to post a message recently. I have finished a flight and was lucky enough to be able to visit some friends in Singapore which has been great fun, now I am back to reality. This week next I have to help Keith with meeting the press and preparing some more material for the course...which I have to say is more than very interesting. When we practised recently I thought I was flying again!

I am looking forward to meeting more people like you on the courses.

The week before I went on holiday I met four people on my flights who had a fear of flying and I was able to talk to them during the flight to help them and I hope they will visit us on the forum soon now.On the next post soon I will show you a typical roster for me and the other cabin crews to show you how normal it is for me to fly.

best wishes and please don't be nervous ...

A little day trip to Pisa

Hi everyone.

I went to Pisa in Italy today, a very busy flight with lots of holiday makers. I got talking to a lovely lady who was worried about turbulence. It was only a little bit bumpy, however this lady felt really uneasy about it. I explained to her that the reason for a few bumps are that the wind comes from different directions and that's why the aircraft moves as it does. I also reassured her that this is perfectly normal and although it feels uncomfortable to fearful flyers, it is not dangerous.

We sat and chatted for a while, which was really nice as it gave me an opportunity to answer her questions about planes, flying and Air Traffic Control. We also chatted about the Flyingwithoutfear.com website, and she will hopefully visit us soon. This lovely lady did really well on this flight, even though she was nervous.

I have been called to do a flight to Dallas tomorrow (Monday 27th August) and I'm really looking forward to it. I haven't been to Dallas since January, so I'm getting excited about all the shopping I'm going to do. I will post about this flight when I come back in a few days time.

I would recommend for anyone who is nervous about flying to let both the ground staff and cabin crew know how you feel. This gives us the opportunity to help you as much as we can, to make your flight better for you.

Best wishes,
Turi

Fear of flying. No Fear

Hi

I'm lucky enough to be in a lovely hotel in Antigua having flown over in the Boeing 777. This trip has been great so far, lovely crew and some wonderful passengers in a party mood ready to sun bath and have fun. On this trip we do a shuttle flight to another Island and then back home on an overnight flight arriving early in the morning. It seems a pity to have to sleep during the day before the flight back but it's all part of a job that I love doing.

Fear of Flying. Turi's fear of flying blog

Hi I'm Turi

Welcome to my blog in association with flyingwithoutfear.com I am a Purser with British Airways at London Gatwick airport. I fly thew 737 and the 777 in Europe and on long haul trips mainly to the Carribean.

I have been working with Keith on the flyingwithoutfear.com forum for about two years. At first I used to be a fairly regular visitor to the forum trying to help people with their fear of flying. About a year ago Keith invited me to be part of his team, recently he and I devised the new Sights and Sounds Seminar. This blog will be different from Keith's and will be focussed more on the flights and experiences that I have when working plus hints and tips that will help you to deal with your fear of flying.

I hope that we can make it even more popular than his blog! So please log in as often as you can and add as many comments as you want. You can always ask me questions via the comments tag.
