Hi Keith, this is a follow up from my Fear Of Flying course at Alton on Sunday 28 April 2013.
My wife and I went to Kos on holiday on 16 May for a week, and I just wanted to let you know things were much, much better for me this time round!! I spent a couple of weeks beforehand reading the books from the course, and listened to the CDs. Come flight day I was fully prepared for the flight, remembering what goes on before, during and after the flight.
I even remembered the 6,000 feet level out issue…….not dropping like a stone!! We had a bit of turbulence, but that was fine. I feel I have gone from a scale of 8/10 previously to probably a 2 or 3/10, brilliant.
One other thing that I found as a bit of “self help”, was to go on You Tube on the internet and type in “Cockpit Recordings” in the search bar. There are loads of examples of commercial aircraft taking off and landing at many airports world wide. It was quite fascinating (and comforting) to see and hear what goes on at these times. You may wish to consider suggesting this to nervous flyers on future courses.
All in all a huge success. Thanks again, and good luck for the future.
